Eight-year-old Trevor is a budding cowboy. He developed an interest in rodeos and calf roping early in life. One day, Trevor was watching a rodeo on television and saw a rodeo cowboy that shared his name, Trevor. From that day on, little Trevor considered his namesake in the rodeo a hero. When presented the opportunity from the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio and Kentucky to have a wish granted, he chose to meet professional rodeo cowboy Trevor Brazile at a live rodeo.
Trevor’s wish granters arranged for him, his mom, and his uncle to travel to Dallas to attend the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s (PRCA) Texas Stampede at the American Airlines Center. From the moment he arrived in the Lone Star State, Trevor was beaming with excitement. As soon as he entered his hotel room, he turned on the TV to find out if there was a rodeo on air.
After resting up from his day of traveling, Trevor was ready to meet his hero. Trevor Brazile met the young cowboy and his family at their hotel and had lunch with him. They were joined by a reporter from the ProRodeo Sports News who was writing an article about “Trevor and Trevor.” To little Trevor’s excitement, the rodeo star brought him a rope, like the one that he competes with, and an autographed picture.
That night Trevor and his family had VIP seats at the Texas Stampede Rodeo. Before the competition began, Trevor Brazile visited little Trevor and gave him a gorgeous black Bailey cowboy hat signed, "To my best fan." The rodeo announcers and TV crew welcomed the family over the public address system and on the big-screen monitor in the arena. After the rodeo, Trevor Brazile and other cowboys met up with Trevor and his family to sign autographs.
After returning home, Trevor couldn’t stop talking about his wish. He raved about his new hat and rope, but most importantly, the young rodeo fan was thrilled with the opportunity to meet his hero. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Jewelers For Children, which sponsored his wish, little Trevor had his wish come true!
